50,000 Dollars.
That’s the estimated amount that my high school dropped on buying all 100+ football players, cheerleaders, and HEALTH SCIENCE students championship rings because the football team won state.
50, 000 dollars. Yet, next year I’m expected to take BC Calculus in a semester, so they can make budget cuts? I’m getting half the time of normal AP students nationwide in my current Biology and US History classes, so they wouldn’t have to spend as much on education? We don’t have the money to buy test prep books for Exams. We don’t have the money for the band to have new carpet put in the band room. We don’t have the funds for our Biology class to do the actual labs we’re supposed to be doing. We don’t have the money for anything academic. But somehow, we had 50,000 bucks just laying around to spend on the football team.
Really now? Really? I’m sorry. I’m so beyond sick at this point.
I’m glad that High School Football is the best any of their lives are ever going to get. I’m glad they have that stupid ring now. I’ll see it on their hand in 10 years when I’m picking up my groceries, and they ask me if I’d like cash back or not.
